Rain Rain Go Away

I'd like to make a formal apology for calling Mr Yerp ''not my friend'' in a way in my last blog. It turns out he is my friend, as well as being a weird man who liked the look of my picture! But a dez man, nonetheless.

Rain soaks İstanbul, but doesn't make it any cleaner. I don't think it has stopped raining for three days. People fix roofs everywhere, yet still hang their laundry off their porches to dry.

We are all prepared for Jen's arrival tomorrow (because I thought she was coming today), and have many plans for the weekend. We're not sure what we'll do today now, though. Probably drink kahve and eat dürüms.

Apology not needed, but thanks for your thoughts!
I'll always be your friend. (Awwwwww) Continued fun to you both,
Cheers.

Hi Robyn,

As I wrote to Will, if you leave the downtown old Constantinople part of town take a DOLMUS--the small minivans that stop and open and let people in and out...far more efficient than a bus...no ticket required, you just get in, pay when you tell them where you're going.

Second major recommendation---take the boat across to Asia---Kadikoy specifically (take this from the bottom of the hill (Eminonou). This will lead you to Asia and a world of exploring (Ali Usta's icecream is my fav icecream in the world---its sheep icecream..mm and in this vicinity). Actually---take the ferries any where and EVERYWHERE! You can take it to Islands in the sea of Marmara w/ no cars (find Trotsky's mansion if you dare), to old mansions, to get a beautiful view of the city, etc. I hope they still run at this time of the year and it stops raining!!

The young person's part of town is across the Golden Horn past the Galata towers away (sorry the name alludes me). There are clubs and lots of shops and restaurants here. Don't judge istanbul by Sultanamehmet!

Good Luck
Chloe
